Why create Facebook & Instagram ads? Why run ads around a major holiday?

Getting noticed can be viewed as a marketing problem. The ad was part of a “Stand out, Erik Sanner!” marketing strategy. You, hopefully a Two Barrels recruiter, creative or other employee who works with Marketing Content Writers, are the target audience. I have a dual role as the product and the marketer.

Two Barrels is looking to fill several open positions. Some are designated Priority ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Marketing Content Writer is not one of those. One option would be to patiently wait for my resume and cover letter, submitted in mid-October, to be seen in turn. This is not, in my humble opinion, how a driven person who Gets Shit Done would behave. It is certainly not a marketing-forward mindset. You don’t sell Mountain Dew at the supermarket by waiting until shoppers have bread and milk in their cart. You prominently place it in their path to get milk in the far corner of the store. The ad is an expression of marketing praxis. For me, landing an interview is Priority ๐Ÿ”ฅ. I cannot learn the culture until I become part of it, and I cannot contribute until I learn the culture.

Many people no longer use Facebook. But if you still have an account, and you’re home for Thanksgiving, that is when you will check it. Plus, Instagram ads are managed by Facebook. Also, specific location targeting is possible, so I was able to run the ads only in Spokane.

If you are from Two Barrels, let’s talk! ๐Ÿ”ฅ
